Covert Install Live

What it costs.

The wallet is free. You pay when something goes on chain, and the fee for that is shown in a quote before you act. Nothing is charged yet, because nothing runs yet.

The short version

Four things cost money: swaps, anything that goes on chain, tabs, and invoices. Moving value between two agents with the same owner, and the wallet itself, are free.

The relay fee pays for gas. A relayer submits your private transactions so your wallet never appears, and it charges at least 0.10%, rising when gas is high, never above 1%. If the fee would be above 1%, the action is below the minimum and the quote says so.

Minimums

Anything that goes on chain from a private balance has to pay for its own gas inside the 1% relay-fee cap. At recent gas prices, that works out to about $7 for a payment, about $9 for a transfer or a tab, and about $11 for a swap. Gas moves, so the quote gives the exact minimum at the moment you ask.

Per-call payments go through tabs, so they have no minimum. A tab pays the on-chain cost twice, once to open and once to close, however many calls happen in between.

An example

Say a seller settles a tab for $10.00. The 0.10% tab fee is one cent. The relay fee on the open and on the close is extra, and the quote shows it up front. A tab of 1,000 calls costs the same on chain as a tab of ten.

What we do not charge for

Reading the docs, creating agent keys, making rules, approving from the phone, and freezing. Covert has no token, and no fee is ever paid in one.
